Meet Oliver. Human statue. The least celebrated artist in the city. Like his job, Oliver’s life is ... just standing still. Every day he takes his spot on a bustling city riverside; content to watch the world go by. Until a part of that world begins to capture his imagination. Marketing consultant Mikaela, who has her lunch right in Oliver’s eye line, is an intriguing study in fidgeting to this master of stillness. But what does a guy do to get noticed? He’s already painted gold!
That problem is solved the day Mikaela knocks Oliver off his pedestal and offers him an opportunity to be the face of a new campaign.
‘Don’t Just Stand There’ is a touching, funny and magical fable of two worlds - the camaraderie of artists on the fringe, and the polished corporate circus - shot with an eye to the wonders of the city that are so easily overlooked. Unless you stand still for a minute. Through Oliver’s quest for commercial viability and Mikaela’s need for just a little poise, we see two worlds curiously drawn to each other, but as tricky to bring together as ... well, a man and a woman.
