In the feel-good drama FINDING KATHERINE, rebellious town elder Maggie is on a mission to save her small village from an unwanted chicken broiler farm development. After the village’s revered environmental patriarch passes away, he leaves his substantial inheritance to his deceased sister, “Katherine.” With no other heirs, Maggie devises a daring plan to claim the unclaimed estate by persuading her emotional and anxious daughter, Sally, to impersonate “Katherine.”
As Maggie, Sally and the community navigate this elaborate deception, they become entangled in a series of escalating, humorous misadventures. To succeed, they must confront their own hidden secrets, outwit the lawyer managing the will, and execute a heist that promises to liberate them all. The film is a heartwarming exploration of family, courage, and the lengths one will go to protect what they hold dear.
